Stand Up Comedy Night in Scott's

with Barry Dodds and Dave Twentyman

Wednesday 27 February 2008
9pm, Doors open at 8pm
Euros 10,-, no presale

(Falsely accused to be from Liverpool, please note that Barry is in fact from Newcastle but lives in Manchester, and Dave is from St. Helens (at least this is near Liverpool!!!) and still lives there. The only excuse for this blonde moment is that I was still taken in by the Greater region euphoria of 2007. Liverpool and the Greater Northwest sounds nicer anyway.....)

Currently riding high on the UK comedy scene, Dave Twentyman is one of the most affable and naturally gifted comedians you'll see this year. Dave's strengths are his improvisation and interaction delivered with genuine warmth & charm, all the ingredients needed for a natural compere. Enjoyed by audiences young and old, he is one of the best things to come out of St.Helens from a long list that already includes Rugby League, Johnny Vegas, Glass, The Transport Museum & Margaret off the Weakest Link.

" Superb, naturally funny " The Hyena

" Quick on his feet, reminsence of a young Johnny Vegas " The Frog & Bucket

" Very funny, lovely young man " Michelle Mullane, XFM Manchester

" Very enjoyable, great to watch " The Glee

"Very Impressive" The Comedy Club

"He deflects the heckles with wit as well as making sure the acts get a rousing reception" Lancashire Life Magazine

Barry has played all over the world, from the small scottish island of Orkney to the scorching heat of Bahrain and recently returned from a successfull show in Cyprus.

"Winning friends with his energy and spirit…" - Chortle

"Razor sharp humour" - Metro

Barry on Luxembourg: "I'm really looking forward to returning to Luxembourg. My first time there two years ago was one of the highlights of my life so far. I had never even been on a plane before that gig. The people in Luxembourg are great, the promoters of the gig are fantastic and Scotts Pub is such a great venue for comedy. It really is my pleasure to return and play there."
